MEDICINE BUDDHA PRAYER

16/3/2025 - 11.20am. Lucy, Nancy, May Choo and yours truly were at the Ngha Aboo Lane Temple. Upon our arrival at the temple, an extended tent was along the lane. I observed five monks leading the prayers. A multitude of devotees was engaged in worship of the Medicine Buddha. 

The Medicine Buddha is believed to comprehend the desires of all beings and to fulfill their aspirations. Each vow he has made stems from a commitment to address the fundamental needs of sentient beings, prioritizing their most critical life requirements. The devotees offered their sincere worship to the Medicine Buddha, presenting joss sticks, incense, and fresh flowers. The aromatic incense permeated the atmosphere, carrying the hopes of the people as they prayed for the blessings of the Medicine Buddha to realize their wishes, avert calamities, prolong life, and bestow wisdom and enlightenment.

The Medicine Buddha Blessing Ceremony is an annual event that harmoniously blends tradition with modernity, and participants were invited to enjoy a buffet vegetarian lunch. Through their dedicated efforts, this remarkable ceremony reached a splendid conclusion.
